Come Join the NU Club of Chicago and Northwestern University Gay and Lesbian Alumni (NUGALA) at Millennium Park for an exclusive "Behind the Scenes" afternoon with Hubbard Street Dance Company (HSDC). The event will begin with a pre-performance talk held by Executive Director Jason Palmquist, Associate Artistic Director Glen Edgerton and HSDC Board Member Patrick Schieble (KSM '89). After the performance, alums will be invited on an exclusive backstage tour, showcasing the multi-story theatre which is almost entirely hidden below Millennium Park .
The Northwestern Club of Chicago is no longer selling tickets to this event. Please visit the Hubbard Street Dance website to purchase tickets.
Please RSVP by Sunday, May 25 to guarantee tickets at the pre-arranged 20% discount/no service fee price for you and your guests and to confirm interest in the backstage tour.
There has been a slight change in the itinerary at the request of the theater to fit into their performance lineup. The schedule will be as follows:
- 1:45 PM Registration begins. Julie Phelan and Debbie Hartman, NU Club of Chicago Board Members will be present to distribute tickets.
- 2:00 PM Backstage Tour of the Harris Theater: Two tours will be provided. The first will leave right at 2:00 PM, and the second will leave approximately ten minutes thereafter.
- 3:00 PM Performance
- Post-Performance ~5:00 PM Talk-Back in the Donor’s Forum, hosted by Director Jason Palmquist, Associate Artistic Director Glen Edgerton and HSDC Board Member Patrick Schieble (KSM '89).

About the Speakers
Jason Palmquist, Executive Director. Palmquist joined Hubbard Street Dance Chicago in May 2007, after serving the arts community in Washington DC for nearly fifteen years. Palmquist began his career at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, most recently serving as Vice President of Dance Administration. Jason was the executive director of the Washington Ballet prior to his move to Chicago.
Glenn Edgerton, HSDC Associate Artistic Director. Edgerton joined HSDC in August 2007, bringing 29 years of professional experience and an international reputation. Edgerton began his career at The Joffrey Ballet where, mentored by Robert Joffrey, he spent 11 years with the company. In 1989, Edgerton joined the acclaimed Nederlands Dans Theater 1 where he danced for five years. Upon retiring from performing in 1994, he was appointed artistic director of NDT 1, leading the company for a decade. Since April 2006, he has been director of the Colburn Dance institute along with Leslie Carothers-Aromaa at the Colburn School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles, a position he retains concurrent with his position at HSDC.
Patrick Schieble, HSDC Board of Directors, Kellogg, Class of ’89. Patrick joined the HSDC board in 2005 while he was a Managing Director at Harris Bank. Schieble spent 26 years in banking all with Harris. His most recent role was leading the banking offering for Harris MyCFO, the ultra-high net worth segment of the Harris Private Bank.
