'Cat Tracks - Anil Agarwal (D79, G83)

Dr. Agarwal has distinguished himself as a dentist, but that is only one of many areas where he excels. His broad-ranging interests have led him to success as an author, entrepreneur, and teacher, all the while living a life that exemplifies his belief that achievements in his professional life are inextricable from those at home. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Agarwal has served with distinction as director of the University's prosthodontic clinics and the treatment planning center as well as a tenured professor.

In 2000, Dr. Agarwal's practice donated a fully equipped dental facility, including the building, for use as a free clinic for the uninsured, underinsured, and others who would not otherwise have access to dental care. He is also on the board of a committee that has raised $4 million of its $5.5 million goal for a new gym at Morgan Park Academy in Chicago. For his involvement in such projects, Mayor Richard M. Daley awarded Dr. Agarwal with an Outstanding Community Service Award. He received an Alumni Merit Award from the NAA at the 2008 Alumni Awards in Chicago.
