Serve our community
Last fall, the NU Club participated in "Make a Difference Day" at Urban Roots, a farm and youth development program.
"My sons are now old enough to participate in community service and to understand why they’re participating. I volunteered at Northwestern, but it took a back seat to child-rearing when the boys were little. It’s a joy to see them enjoy giving back."
Allison Lowery (J ’89)
Enhance your career
Each year, the NU Club hosts a career event with speakers like Evan Smith of the Texas Tribune, former CEO and NU professor William White, and Kellogg Director of Alumni Career Services Matthew Temple.
"As NU alumni, we were fortunate to attend school with some interesting people. As our careers unfold, our classmates are just as interesting. Whether looking for the next opportunity or simply new ideas, career networking events give us a chance to hear each other’s stories and learn from each other’s experiences."
Gary Thompson (WCAS ’87, KSM ’91)
Give back to Northwestern
Members of Austin’s chapter of the Alumni Admission Council represent Northwestern at area college fairs and conduct local alumni interviews.
"It’s exciting to be part of the growing interest in Northwestern here in Austin. It’s very rewarding. After all, under what other circumstances is it possible to get a bunch of teenagers to focus like a laser beam on every word you say?"
Bob Schooler (WCAS ’70, KSM ’74)
