Is America Safer?
On Wednesday, October 11, a crowd of nearly 200 alumni and friends gathered for a panel discussion on "The Politics of Terrorism" to discuss whether or not America and Americans are safer five years after 9/11.
Expert panelists included Professor David Scheffer, Northwestern University School of Law; Professor Aaron Gellman, Northwestern Transportation Institute; Professor Nader Hashemi, Department of Political Science and William Reno, Department of Political Science. The panel was moderated by Richard Longworth of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
After a reception in the lobby of the Robert H. Lurie Medical Research Center on Northwestern’s downtown campus, alums and friends engaged with the panelists on a vast array of issues including Arab and Muslim relations, U.S. Policy issues, International human rights, and transportation security.
