Alumnae of Northwestern Award Reception (2009)

Marie Arana (WCAS71) is the 2009 recipient of the Alumnae of Northwestern Award. Presented annually by the Alumnae of Northwestern, the award recognizes an alumna who has made outstanding contributions and received international recognition in her field. Arana has had an illustrious career in the editorial and publishing fields.

Currently, she is a Writer-at-Large for The Washington Post and a Kluge Scholar at the Library of Congress. In 2008, The Washingtonian magazine called her "one of the most powerful people in Washington, DC."
