NU Club of DC -- 2009 Holiday Gala

The NU Club of DC's most popular event is back for the sixth consecutive year and the 2009 Holiday Gala promises to be the best yet! Join us for an evening of dancing and mingling with fellow alumni at the legendary City Tavern Club in Georgetown on Friday, December 4, from 8 p.m. to midnight. This year’s very special guest is NU women’s lacrosse Coach Kelly Amonte-Hiller, who has won five consecutive NCAA titles, has a .822 winning percentage, has coached two Tewaaraton Trophy winners and more than two dozen All-Americans, and was recently named the 2009 Bob Voigts Coach of the Year. This is your chance to meet and listen to Coach Amonte-Hiller talk about NU’s success alongside famed Sportscaster and NU graduate Christine Brennan.

This year’s black tie optional Holiday Gala will feature dessert, a silent auction of Northwestern memorabilia, dancing to great music, a cash bar, and a presentation from Coach Amonte-Hiller; all in a beautiful setting right in the heart of Georgetown. Guests are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy for our local charity, Toys for Tots. All proceeds from the silent auction will benefit the NU women’s lacrosse team’s favorite charity: The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation (http://friendsofjaclyn.org/). The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation is a charitable organization that improves the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families. FOJ matches a child with a college or high school sports team based on geographic location and to give them the support they need during their illness. The NU lacrosse team is very committed to this charity and Coach Amonte-Hiller will talk about what it has meant to her team and to Jaclyn.

All NU alumni may purchase up to 4 tickets for friends and family. If you have questions about which price level you fall into, please email Lauren. All orders are final. The ETK system will not allow you to add or remove guests after the order is complete; if you must make changes, contact NAA (in Evanston) directly.  The cutoff year for Young Alumni is 10 years after completion of an undergraduate degree.
