In 1926 Montana Senator William A. Clark bequeathed his personal collection of over 800 works of art to the Corcoran; the core of Corcoran’s holdings of European art.  Clark and Davies were self-made men; industrialists with interests in mining; both became politicians; ultimately their wealth went to the enrichment of major galleries of art.  The exhibitions on tour will include works by Jean-Baptiste, Corot, Millet, Degas, Cezanne, Manet, Monet, Pissarro, Renois, Turner, vonGogh.
