This is a useful externship opportunity not only for students looking for careers in education, but also for anyone interested in public policy, business, not-for-profit, etc. It will provide an intimate look at one of the greatest injustices facing our country: the achievement gap that leaves half of children living in poverty without a high school degree (and for those who graduate, an average 8th-grade skill level).
