Egypt, 2009 - Northwestern travelers started their journey in Egypt’s capital, Cairo, the largest city on the African continent situated on the fertile banks of the Nile. Travelers enjoyed a visit to the world-famous Egyptian Museum with its splendid treasures from the tomb of Tutankhamen and marveled at the Pyramids of Giza and the renowned Sphinx. The group also spent five days aboard a deluxe cruise ship that navigated the Nile River from Luxor to Aswan, traveled to the Valleys of the Kings and Queens, and viewed the breathtaking Temple of Philae. Travelers concluded their trip in Cairo, spending one last relaxing night in the historic city.
