Formally established in 1999, the NUMBALUMS is one of the largest and most active of the NAA national clubs. The NUMBALUMS have a reputation for being among the most involved, proud and school-spirited alumni in the Northwestern community. Benefits of membership include:
- Invitations to annual and special events, including marching with NUMB at homecoming;
- Eligibility to run for office and vote at the NUMBALUMS Annual Meeting, as well as bring matters before
the Board of Directors;
- Enrichment and networking opportunities;
- Subscription to the bi-annual NUMBALUMS newsletter, “The Growl;” and
- Supporting and promoting the efforts of participating band groups, the Bienen School of Music and
Northwestern Athletics.
Examples of participating band groups include:
- the Northwestern Wildcat Marching Band,
- the Concert Band,
- the Symphonic Band,
- the Symphonic Wind Ensemble,
- all jazz bands,
- the Basketball Band,
- the Waa-Mu Pit Orchestra, and
- any other brass or wind ensembles in the Bienen School of Music.
Membership dues are used to fund projects and events for both alumni and current NUMB students, including equipment, events, and so forth. The annual fee is $20 for a rolling individual membership ($35 for family membership); join online now! (You must have or create an NAA profile.) If you graduated in the last five years, membership is free.
