NU Club of Metro Detroit Holds Speed Networking Event

July 21, 2009.  Alumni from the metro Detroit area participated in a speed networking event titled Tapping Into the NU Network where each person was able to successfully make at least a dozen new connections. Keynote speaker Susan Kraus Jones (J71, GJ72), professor of Marketing at Ferris University and a 2007 inductee into the Medill Hall of Achievement, discussed "Zen Networking", which is based on the premise of helping others for the greater good.

Kraus Jones also shared seven tips for zen networking “with a purple and white twist” and highlighted the advice of several alumni career experts who are helping to build a stronger NU community. Club leaders Rebecca Scruggs (WCAS96) and Megan Doud (WCAS02) spoke to attendees about NU Club of Metro Detroit and encouraged people to join. Attendees were encouraged to join the Northwestern group on LinkedIn.
