Energetic alumni from across disciplines invite you to join a new club, the Northwestern University Public Interest Alumni Association (NU PIAA).
The NU PIAA is building stronger connections among alumni and current students interested in public service by bringing our world-renowned faculty speakers to alumni gatherings across the nation and fostering opportunities for public service. The NU PIAA will address a wide range of issues, such as:
- international human rights advocacy,
- management in the non-profit sector,
- investigative public interest journalism,
- government work, and
- provision of medical services to impoverished communities.
Connection to Students
The NU PIAA is also partnering with our next generation of alumni: students interested in public service careers and the public interest. This is a major focus of the NU PIAA's international committee co-chairs, Mmiliaku A. Nwoye (FSM04) and Dennis Tsai (L01).
International Ties
Internation Ties
The NU PIAA is reaching out to international graduate students to participate in panel discussions about public interest work abroad. The NU PIAA will also co-host a dinner with international student leaders later this year for community members who decide to stay in the Chicago area during the Thanksgiving break.
Alumni from across the nation and around the world are excited about the public interest and public service efforts of Northwestern's leading faculty and programs. NU PIAA club members from NU's undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools are building a strong sense of community while elevating the stature of the university, NU faculty and alumni as leaders in public interest advocacy around the world.
