Career Events During Reunion Weekend A Success (2009)
Norris University Center was awash in purple over Reunion Weekend where hundreds of alumni attended various NAA career events.
The NAA offered a job search basics seminar and a networking luncheon to provide alums with the skill set to shine in today’s challenging job market.
The "Job Search Basics" seminar was hosted by Cindy Graham, the Senior Assistant Director for University Career Services. Graham’s workshop highlighted the resume styles that employers seek and the creative approaches to give a resume the competitive edge.
Following the Job Search Basics workshop, participants attended the Networking Naturally Luncheon with speaker Carol Ross (McC83, GMcC87). Ross captivated participants with a hilarious and informative workshop highlighting networking principles. Ross is the creator of the Networking Naturally Program, a popular teleseminar series that teaches working professionals how to create and nurture relationships needed for career advancement both in person and online. The Networking Naturally Program has been offered to NU alumni twice in the past year.
Alumni left the homecoming afternoon events with new skills, contacts, and a refreshed career outlook. The positive response from event participants will help shape the future events hosted by the NAA for the Northwestern alumni network.
