More Than 120 Attend Northwestern Explores in L.A.

June 12, 2010.  The NAA hosted its largest-ever career program in Los Angeles as part of its year-long series, Northwestern Explores: Work Well, Live Smart. More than 120 alumni and guests attended this program, which was presented in collaboration with the NU Club of Los Angeles, Kellogg Alumni Career Services, the Medill Club of Southern California, NU Law and the Council of One Hundred.

The afternoon featured a panel discussion moderated by Candy Deemer (J76, GJ77), who asked panelists about their career paths and asked them to share tips and advice with the audience on what they have learned in their career. Concurrent sessions were led by Lindsey Pollak on networking in the 21st century and Matthew Temple (KSM93), Director of Kellogg Alumni Career Services on career reinvention. The program ended with a networking reception featuring more than 15 industry representatives who hosted industry tables so that alumni and guests could meet people in specific career fields.

Several attendees made comments on how the program benefitted them. Comments include:

“This was one of the best events of this kind that I’ve ever been to. I will absolutely be going to more as a result.”

“Thanks for putting together such a great event, it was really interesting to hear everyone’s stories and there were some awesome people there.”
