Latino Alumni of Northwestern University (LANU) -- Membership

The LANU membership provides numerous benefits including a joining a network of Latino alumni and students:

Networking Opportunities:
-Professional - Looking for work or considering a career change? LANU will provide initiatives (e.g., social mixers, professional networking events) to connect fellow alumni working in a wide array of professions and industries (e.g., law, engineering, education, technology).
-Graduate - Interested in Medill, Kellogg, SCS, or other graduate schools? Our fellow Latino Alumni have graduated from several renowned schools and graduate programs and may provide the graduate school insight you need.
-Social/Personal - Seeking to connect with new alumni or re-connect with classmates from years past? LANU social events (e.g., Cubs game, after work happy hours) will make it easy to meet up with new/old fellow Wildcats!

Professional Development Opportunities:
-Hear from top professionals, career consultants, and renowned speakers and authors -- many of which also graduated from NU.
-Attend presentations focusing on the vital proficiencies you need to master in order to consistently produce superior performance and accomplish your career goals in a variety of industries.
-Learn the secrets of fellow Latino Alumni who have made it in the professional world.

Local Community Service:
-Work with fellow Latino Alumni to provide outreach and assistance to our underserved Chicago communities.

Membership Options

Membership in LANU is limited to members of the Northwestern University community, including alumni, faculty and staff. Membership is organized in four categories as follows:

Current Students
Current students are eligible for membership in LANU and will be exempt from paying membership dues.

Alumni
Any self-identified Latinos who have matriculated to any of the schools or colleges of Northwestern University are eligible for membership in LANU. Alumni pay the established membership dues. New graduates will be exempt from paying membership dues for one year from the date of their graduation.

Associate
Associate Members may include faculty and staff of Northwestern University, as well as all friends and family of Alumni members or current students. The Membership Committee must approve all Associate Member applicants. Associate Members pay the established membership dues.

Honorary
Honorary Members are individuals invited to participate in LANU by the organization’s Executive Board and will be exempt from paying membership dues.
