The Northwestern Club of Chicago, the Alumni and Friends of the London School of Economics in Chicago, and Link Community Development invite you to attend a speaker event on "What's Next? A Forecast from One of the World's Leading Economists" featuring David Hale, LSE alumnus and Chicago-based global economist. Proceeds will benefit Link Community Development, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children in Africa by delivering HIV/AIDS education programs to prevent the spread of the disease and mitigate its impact.

David Hale is the founding chairman of David Hale Global Economics and China Online which provides daily business news on China. Mr. Hale currently serves as the Global Economic Advisor to the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and is a member of the U.S. National Association of Business Economists and the New York Society of Security Analysts. Mr. Hale writes on a broad range of economic subjects and his articles have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, The Far Eastern Economic Review, The Financial Times of London, The New York Times, and many other publications. He lectures worldwide, to groups including the World Economic Forum, The Fortune Global CEO Conference, and the National Association of Governors. He has frequently testified before Congressional committees on domestic and international economic policy issues and does briefings for senior officials in the executive branch, including President Bush. He has also been a consultant to the U.S. Department of Defense on how changes in the global economy are affecting U.S. security relationships.

Link Community Development is an international family of nine nonprofit organizations united by a common vision and purpose to helping children in Africa by delivering HIV/AIDS education programs to prevent the spread of the disease and mitigate its impact. Link is currently established in England and Wales, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ireland, Malawi, Scotland, South Africa, Uganda and the United States. The U.S. headquarters are located in Chicago. Link Community Development works at all levels of the education system – with communities, schools and governments – to identify and remove the obstacles to quality education. Link works in rural districts of Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, South Africa, and Uganda, and there is demand to extend its work to other countries. Link also works with schools in England & Wales, Ireland, Scotland and the USA to build support for development and raise awareness of important global issues through its Link Schools Programme, as well as raising funds and supporting its work in sub-Saharan Africa.
