Treasures of South America
The tour began in Buenos Aires, known as The Paris of South America. The travelers explored the elegant boulevards lined with upscale boutiques, cafés, plazas and quaint museums. The group mingled at a special welcome reception that featured local Northwestern alumni. Next, they traveled to Iguazu Falls, arguably the most spectacular confluence of waterfalls in the western hemisphere. By land and by water, the NAA travelers journeyed from San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina to Puerto Varas, Chile, over majestic Andean peaks and across pristine Patagonian lakes. Their final destination was Santiago, Chile, where the travelers admired the beautifully preserved colonial architecture, lively markets and perfectly landscaped parks.
