You will stroll through the bustling markets of the glittering imperial city of Bangkok and encounter a unique world of pristine beaches, tropical jungles and grand temples. Call at Singapore and the ancient ports of the Malay Peninsula, where centuries of trading among Malay, Arabian, Indian, Chinese and Dutch seafarers have created an enticing mélange of cultures, religions and cuisines.

ITINERARY

Day 1 and 2 - Depart from the U.S. Cross the international dateline.  

Day 3 – Bangkok, Thailand
Arrive in Bangkok early this morning and check-into the deluxe Shangri-La Hotel. Spend the rest of the day in Bangkok at leisure.  

Day 4 – Bangkok/Phuket

Visit Bangkok’s past and present during a cruise along the vibrant Chao Phraya River.

Fly to Phuket this afternoon and embark the S.Y. STAR CLIPPER.

Day 5 – Similan Islands

Walk through a tropical rainforest in search of exotic wildlife. Keep an eye out for the islands’ 32 indigenous bird species and exotic creatures like bush-tailed porcupines and hairy-legged mountain crabs. 

Attend a private welcome reception aboard the S.Y. STAR CLIPPER.

Day 6 – Phang Nga/Ko Hong

Cruise across the breathtaking seascapes of Phang Nga Bay, where giant limestone mountains and sheer cliffs rise dramatically from the emerald waters of the Andaman Sea.

After lunch, spend the afternoon on the idyllic island of Ko Hong. 

Day 7 – Ko Adang
Enjoy the natural splendor of the remote island paradise of Ko Adang during a swim in the surrounding pristine waters, while snorkeling around the coral or walking along the island’s white sandy beaches or lush forest trails.

Day 8 – Penang, Malaysia

Explore Penang Island, known as the “Pearl of the East” during a drive through the isle’s hilly countryside and a tour of the historic port of Georgetown.

Day 9 – At sea 

Day 10 - Malacca

One of Asia’s most historic ports, Malacca, is the center of the fabled Asian spice trade. Visit the Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum, which chronicles Malacca’s unique hybrid culture, and learn more about traditional Chinese spirituality during a specially arranged tour of Malaysia’s oldest Chinese temple.

Attend a specially arranged Village Forum with local residents.

Day 11 - Arrive in Singapore and return to the U.S.


Bangkok & Angkor Wat Pre-Program Option
This unique Pre-Program Option offers the opportunity to spend additional time in Bangkok and Angkor Wat. Stay one night in the deluxe Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok and tour the historic Jim Thompson House. Continue on to Siem Reap for two nights in the Sofitel Hotel Phokeethra Royal Angkor and experience one of the most incredible sights on earth—Angkor Wat, the 12th-century triumph of Cambodia’s Khmer Empire.
