The shores of the Black Sea have given rise to captivating cities that have played pivotal roles in the emergence of Western civilization. Board the Six-Star Crystal Serenity and discover the lands of Cossacks and crusaders, gods and goddesses, minarets and mythical beasts.

Our journey begins in Venice and spans ancient seas to Katákolon, the gateway to the magnificent ruins of Olympia, and the idyllic island of Mykonos. Explore the Romanian port of Constanta and the Ukraine’s historic Odessa and Yalta on the Crimean Peninsula. Admire the beautiful natural harbor in Sinop and delight in the grandeur of one of the world’s most magnificent monuments—the magnificent Blue Mosque in Istanbul. Every day unfolds in a series of breathtaking panoramas on this idyllic route through volcanic cliffs, sandy beaches and verdant hills of cypress.

ITINERARY

Day 1
Depart your gateway city for Venice, Italy. (Flight provided for Air/Sea participants only.)

Day 2
Upon arrival, transfer to Crystal Serenity. (Transfer provided for Air/Sea participants only.) The remainder of the day is at leisure to settle into your stateroom and acquaint yourself with the many amenities on board the ship.

Day 3
Today is at leisure in the magnificent city of Venice. You may decide to visit St. Mark’s Square, the Doge’s Palace, the 11th-century Basilica and the lovely Bridge of Sighs. Crystal Cruises will also offer Optional Shore Excursions to some of Venice’s opulent treasures.

Day 4
Enjoy a full day at leisure, cruising the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. Jog along the promenade deck, or swim a few laps in the ship’s pool. If you do, be sure to reward your efforts at the poolside ice cream bar!

Day 5
The ship arrives in Katákolon, Greece this morning. Walk along the peaceful streets of this charming village, or join an Optional Shore Excursion to nearby Olympia or Pyrgos.

Day 6
Arrive at the Greek island of Mykonos. Known for its beautiful golden beaches, picturesque villages, lovely churches and interesting museums, it has something for everyone. Discover this beloved island on your own, or participate in an Optional Shore Excursion offered by Crystal Cruises.

Day 7
Admire the turquoise waters of the Dardenelles and the Bosporus Strait during a relaxing day of sailing.

Day 8
Upon arrival in Constanta, Romania, disembark for a day of sightseeing. Nestled on the shores of the Black Sea, Constanta has a long, storied history—ancient mythology states Jason landed here after finding the golden fleece! Admire its ancient ruins, impressive churches and art nouveau casino.

Day 9
Experience Odessa, the Pearl of the Black Sea.

Optional Shore Excursions highlight historic sites such as the Potemkin Steps, or you may wish to explore this elegant Ukrainian city on your own.

Day 10
Marvel at the Crimean resort of Yalta, the setting of the famous conference, and the former summer home of Russia’s Romanov family. Take advantage of free time to explore highlights such as Livadia Palace on your own, or join one of Crystal Cruises’ Optional Shore Excursions.

Day 11
Crystal Serenity arrives in Sinop, Turkey. According to legend, this lovely port was founded by the Amazons, who originally called the city Sinova, after their queen. Among its ancient ruins is the citadel, while the Archeological Museum showcases interesting exhibits on ancient times. Tour the city on your own, or during one of Crystal Cruises’ Optional Shore Excursions.

Day 12
This is your final full day at sea. Take a class at the Creative Learning Institute, work on your golf swing with the golf pro or browse the gift shops. On board Crystal Serenity, your day can be as active or relaxed as you wish!

Day 13
Today, arrive in Istanbul. Walk along the streets where crusaders once marched, see stunning mosques or look for bargains at the Grand Bazaar. Discover all the cultural heart of Turkey offers, either on your own or during an Optional Shore Excursion.

Day 14
This morning, disembark the ship. Transfer to the airport for the return flight to your gateway city. (Transfer and flight provided for Air/Sea participants only.)
