NU Club of Washington DC

Welcome to the NU Club of Washington DC, winner of the Northwestern Alumni Association’s “Club of the Year” award in 2006!

We have one of the most active local NU alumni clubs in the world, offering a variety of activities and events designed for alumni of all ages. Through these activities and events, we seek to renew our connections to Northwestern, and establish personal and professional acquaintances with other alumni in the Washington, DC region. Maintaining long-term connections to one’s university is invariably of great benefit not only to the university, but to alumni of all ages. We have been successful in bringing in noted Northwestern faculty for a variety of events as well as promoting numerous gatherings for all alums and their families, including these recent or planned events:

A reception on Capitol Hill featuring House Democratic Caucus Chairman Rahm Emanuel (D-IL-5)
A panel on foreign policy and the future of U.S. diplomacy post-Iraq featuring Medill graduates
An annual Holiday Gala benefiting the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program
Brunch with sportswriters and alumni Michael Wilbon and Christine Brennan
An annual fundraiser to benefit Northwestern’s Dance Marathon
Group outings to sporting events, including a Washington Nationals game when the Chicago Cubs are in town
Career networking, community service, docent-led tours, and much more!
