The Northwestern Alumni Association recently made updates to our website and will be relaunching the Northwestern Alumni-Owned Small Business Directory with new data and improved functionality in the coming months. If you would like your business to be included in the new directory, please submit your information.

- How does the NAA define a small business?
- A small business is defined as an independently owned and operated company that is limited in size and revenue depending on the industry.
- Does the business have to be owned by a Northwestern alum to qualify?
- This resource is intended to allow Northwestern alumni the opportunity to support their fellow Wildcats.
- If a Northwestern alum has another position in a small business, but does not own it, can the business still be included in the directory?
- At this time, business listings may only include alumni-owned businesses.
- Why are submissions only added monthly?
- Before we post a business, we will verify that it is, in fact, owned by a Northwestern alum. Also, in accordance with Northwestern University policy, we will verify that businesses are consistent with the fundamental mission of the University and not in conflict with the guiding principles and brand of the University.
- How often will Northwestern verify that a company’s information is current?
- The NAA will conduct an audit of the directory every two years. If you would like to make changes to your current listing, please reach out to naainfo@northwestern.edu
- Does the NAA provide financial support to businesses on this page?
- This directory is simply a list of alumni-owned small businesses. The NAA does not provide financial assistance to specific businesses.
