More than 50 years after meeting as students in Willard Hall, John McNamara ’76, Joel King ’76, Jack Hynes ’76, and Paul Igasaki ’76 reunited in Chicago to celebrate their Northwestern memories and lasting friendship, reminisce, and recreate their Northwestern graduation photo. Their story is a reminder of the connections that continue long after graduation and one of the many reasons Wildcats return to campus for during Homecoming and Reunion Weekend.

2026 Commencement Speaker

Award-winning actor, producer, and entrepreneur Sarah Jessica Parker delivered the commencement address for Northwestern’s Class of 2026 during the University’s 168th annual ceremony.

With a career spanning more than five decades, Parker is best known for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in the critically acclaimed television series “Sex and the City.” The show established her as a fashion and pop culture icon — one who has channeled her immense talent and influence to elevate the arts and the voices of underrepresented people around the world through story.

Parker also received an honorary degree of Doctor of Arts. Read the full Northwestern Now story.
