About the trip host

Francesca Tataranni

Francesca Tataranni is the Charles Deering McCormick Distinguished Professor of Instruction and Director of the Latin Program. Francesca (PhD in Ancient History, University of Pisa) specializes in the history of archaic, and republican Rome, with a focus on ethnicity in pre-Roman Italy. At Northwestern, Francesca teaches courses on a variety of topics related to Latin language and literature, Roman history, and the reception of classical antiquity in the US, including a digital humanities seminar titled “Ancient Rome in Chicago”. She is very excited to host her 11th Northwestern Alumni Association trip.
